Manuscript was engaged by Woolmark to demystify one of the world’s most recognisable yet least understood textile certifications. Despite appearing on billions of products, the Woolmark symbol’s meaning – and the rigorous testing behind it – remained largely unknown.
        In response, Manuscript created The Meaning Behind the Mark, a visually striking, science-led short film that brings the five-step certification process to life. Using specialist-built sets and extreme macro cinematography, the film captures the microscopic detail and intensity of each test, revealing the durability and performance of Merino wool under extreme conditions. The aesthetic reflects wool’s unique intersection of nature and science, ultimately elevating the perceived value of garments bearing the Woolmark label.
